Our Story

“Friends of the Hillside” was started by Audrey Liese in 2023, when she moved to El Cerrito and fell in love with the Hillside Natural Area.

She soon met others who were just as passionate about environmentalism and community building - and newcomers who were just curious and want to learn more.

The org has grown into a community of people from across the Bay Area, and we have already made so much progress.
